Fully Endowed Scholarships
The total earnings attributed by these scholarships is controlled by the TCSF Board of Directors. After a calculation of estimated earnings by the TCSF Treasurer, and a review by the Board, the Executive Director forwards a check for the total amount of the Endowed Scholarships to the Principals of the Schools. The Principals review requests, along with Financial Statements from parents for financial assistance. Both Catholic and non-Catholic students may receive financial aid.

Student Aid Funds
The earnings from these funds are requested as needed by the Principals to assist families that run into financial difficulties during the School Year..

Academic Scholarships
The earnings from this fund are distributed by the School System to the Students that have a grade point average of 90 or better and that have good character, participate in extra curricular activities and community service as determined by the Principals and their staffs. The latest awards from this fund were sixteen $500 awards.

Academic-Athletic Scholarships
The earnings from this fund are awarded as a tuition grant to a female athlete entering her senior year who is of strong academic standing [B average or above] and, because of her good life style choices, is a role model for other students. The selection committee is comprised of the Female Athletic Director, High School Chaplain, and all Junior teachers.

Scholarships Under Development
No earnings are attributed to these funds until they become Fully Endowed Scholarships.

Specific Funds

James O’Connor Endowment for Theology Fund
This fund must maintain a minimum balance of $100,000. The Executive Director reports the total earnings from this fund, along with any carryover from the prior year to the Principals of St. Gregory Elementary and T.K. Gorman Schools. The Principals will not draw any funds down during the school year, but will keep a detailed list of where equivalent monies were spent during the year as intended by this fund. At the end of the School Year, the Principals will send their detailed lists along with requests for reimbursement, to the Awards Committee Chairperson. The Awards Committee Chairperson will consult with all members of the Awards Committee and then make recommendation to the Board of Directors. Upon approval, the Executive Director will forward reimbursement checks as required.

Teacher’s Emolument
A reasonable distribution across the Tyler Catholic School System is intended for this Fund. This Fund is used for training aids for teachers, seminars, guest speakers for teacher in service days, or any type of enrichment courses and programs requested by the School System. It is not intended for individual continuing education purposes at colleges or universities. At the end of the School Year, the Principals will follow the same procedures as discussed above for the James O’Connor Fund.

Flexible Funds

Monsignor Milam J. Joseph Golf Tournament
This Fund may be used for any purpose as directed by the TCSF Board of Directors. Past practice has been to use this fund to establish academic scholarships for the Tyler Catholic School System and for extraordinary requests for funds for the benefit of the Tyler Catholic School System..

TCSF Operating Support
This Fund is used for operating expenses at the Foundation office.
